I'm dying to try out one of these on-line poker sites. Has anybody tried them out? I couldn't afford much more than $100. I need a site where the typical bets are in the $1-2 range so I could stretch that $100 out. I'd hate to get in and lose it all in five hands.

I play occasionally on both Paradise Poker & Party Poker. Both have 1-2 games as well as 3-6, 5-10, and tournament style, either multi-table or single-table.
Paradise has an interesting promo going on now. They have satellite tournaments 3x per day, *free entry*, and top spots (top 10, 15 or 20 depending on time of day) gain entry into an online $1M tournament where you'll play against about 3400 people for the big money.
2 wks ago I was lucky enough to beat 1700 people to get a spot in the big dance on Dec 3rd. Be glad to play against some SOMO friends sometime!

I use Pokerstars.com. They have every set-up you would want. Tournaments, Sit&Go's, satellites, cash games ranging from .01/.02 blinds to $10/$20 blinds. Many players in the world series of poker have won their spot through the pokerstars tournaments. It's really a cool site.
I'd be willing to play most anywhere to get a game going with you guys. Let's set something up!

I'd be interested. Haven't played online before. The price range that Tee is looking works for me.

Let's pick a date and try to start working on it. Here's the parameters I am willing to do:
$50-100 buy-in (smaller the better for my first time)
small bets (maybe .05-.10 blinds and max raises of $1, something like that)
Private game only (in other words only people we invite from the SOM boards)
I would prefer like a late Friday or Saturday evening (say 10 p.m. ET or so) after I've put the young'uns to bed.

I would play. I play on Pokerroom.com. Just started it. I had trouble with partypoker.com. I had to take down my firewall to play on my laptop. I didn't have to do that with pokerroom.com...I was able to keep firewall up. Buy in was easy with firepay. Played my first mini tourney last night and took 2nd. I made 9 bucks on my 5 dollar investment. A table of 10 players. Game/Tourney took about 1 hour 15 minutes. fun, fun.

I play on Full Tilt. Also have an account on Party but I cashed out and went over to FTP for the 100% cashback promo they had and I haven't gone back. I love it, plus it's fun to railbird Ivey and Matusow when they play. Amazing how many idiots love to talk trash to them.
I'll be playing Saturday afternoon in the WPT Foxwoods qualifier and probably ring games/tourneys most of the day Sunday if anyone is on FTP. I'd also consider bumping some cash back to Party if we can get a game going.
I would suggest though that we play smaller tourneys for people who don't want to invest a lot. I play a little higher than those who have posted are looking for, but I'd definitely consider a $5 tourney with a select group a lot of fun.
My name on FTP is czechrays. It's also what I do.
