This is my first team played and I do not want to blow it.
I am up 8 games to win division with 9 to play.
I am 3 behind other division leaders.
What do the "Vets" in this situation do.
Therefore should I "rest" certain players or not?

I made a similar post recently and the consensus was kinda split. I opted for resting players. I had 2nd spot wrapped up and maybe not the best chance of overtaking the first place team. I had home field for the first series, which incidently meant nothing as I lost the first 2 at home then won the next 2 on the road, game 5 goes tonight. What made me finally decide to rest, was a key injury to a guy before the playoffs could be crippling, why risk it in a meaningless game.

On my teams nobodys gets rest till a playoff spot is clinched. An 8 game lead with 9 to play is solid but not clinched just yet.

I agree with Bombers on playing everyone until you have clinched. I have been burned only once by injuries down the stretch. I was tied for the division lead when Javier Valentin was injured in his first at bat in game 162. We lost that game, lost him for the semifinals and got swept in the semifinals on the road as the wild card.

Rest players who are injury risks, ie escobar or chipper etc.
