IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR BERNIE??? HELP FROM ANYONE ELSE?

Postby cristano11 » Thu Jun 28, 2007 3:16 pm

i have a bmolina jposada platoon at catcher... my league is 30 games old, and already 4 times bmolina has come up in the 7th, 8th, or 9th inning in a game a LHP started, but a RHP is on in relief... all 4 times bmolina bats against the righty... all 4 times jposada sits on the bench... i have bmolina checked off "avoid righty"... WHY does bmolina bat each time????
my team is full of platoons... there is no reason what-so-ever that bmolina should hit in ANY of these 4 situations... yet HAL makes no effort to pinch hit for him... there must be an error in the coding for the new game engine???

I looked at the games and there does not seem to be any pattern evident that would account for it. In two games you had at least a 3 game lead so perhaps HAL didn't think he needed to pinch hit, but in two others you were down by 1 and tied in the other. Molina faced hard right handers each time so it would seem to me he should have been pinch it for.

Do you have pinch hit assignments set? HAL wouldn't automatically assume posada would pinch hit for molina even if HAL decided to pinch hit. That's all I can think of.

Of course, HAL would argue he was right based on the results - two outs, but also a single and a 3-run homer for a .500 BA. :D
