I have had Berkman on 2 teams, and he has been a bust on both. In most leagues, he seems to underperform. Who would you say are the better 1B : cost to performance ratio in 2007?

His stats on my current team:

AB R H 2B 3B HR BI BB K AVB OBP SLG
384 49 98 18 1 19 56 44 75 .255 .333 .451

Home field--Tropicana

Similar card to Thome at 1B, the best if not one of the best in the set. He needs a platoon, at first try Eddie Perez or in the OF try Ross, Murphy (RF only) or Kielty.

I've used him 4X thus far and he hits a ton for me.

Too expensive to platoon IMHO. He bats 3rd. for me vs. RH's and 7th or 8th. vs. LH's.

3x for me...hitting results:

.269, 57 hr, 125 rbi
.289, 46 hr, 113, rbi
.237, 30 hr, 84 rbi

Kills righties...still a great OBP against lefties, but I usually bat him 2nd v lefties due to power shortage there.

Much better all around than Thome.

I'd platoon him only if you're hurting for SLP against lefties, otherwise play all the time.

If he turns it around in the final 60 games, I could be playoff bound. I hope he does like Dye did on one of my teams. Dye hit about 30 HR, 80 RBI, and batted .350+ in a simular span after having about the same start in the 1st 100 games.

Here is a link to the team he is on.

This is Berkman on my current team in Ameriquest. Hasn't hit a single homerun against lefties but his defense and walks keep him in the lineup and there is only 14 left-handed starters in my league anyway. Still on pace for 40 homers and 100 rbi
