Manager Strategy?

What's the difference between the Conservative, Normal or Aggressive selections on the managerial strategy tab and the player card selection?

For example: I selected "bunt more" on a players card versus setting sacrifice to "Aggressive".

Does it matter? I just want a particular player to sacrifice the runner over often when there is a force and less than two outs.

Good question. Too bad there is no manual that would help.

I have about 1,000 of those type questions for this on-line version of SOM.

The wisest thing to do is to set the one-run strategies (steal, bunt, H&R) to conservative, and individual players (i.e., the ones who are both good at those things and don't hit much) to do those things "more." The only exception I could think of to this would be if you're playing ATG with all deadball era hitters and pitchers. In modern baseball, where players have extra-base power, you want your default strategy to be "swing away." The one-run strategies are for use in specific situations.
