Ok I just joined one of the free Strat O leagues that SN is offering. (2003) and I was wondering a- what you guys thought about my roster b- if you had any tips that would help me through out the season.

I've got a pretty strong offense but my pitching is lacking IMO.

Pitchers

Lilly
Lowe
Wolf
Saarloos
TJ Tucker
Percival
Plesac
Baez
Kilne
Urbina

Batters-

B. Molina
C. Johnson
Teixeira
Soriano
Wiggington
Beltre
A-Rod
Valentin
Winn
Lee
Burnitz
Jones
Baldelli
Drew
Green

Any thoughts? All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The Guru

hard to tell much of anything .....provide a link if you can ......

the 1 thing i can see from that team is that you need a 2b'man.....
soriano is worthless since he is a "4 " rating at 2b.....

you never want to play a "4" at 2b,ss, or cf....in fact you dont even really want anything worse than a "3 " in any of those positions

To post a link to your team,

Go to the "Statistics" Page......
Click on "Teams"
Click on your team
Go to the link above in the address bar and copy (it should have an "Id" at end of link)
Then come back here and paste it in your reply.

For example:

No.1 rule --- don't spend so much on your bench ...this is not fantasy baseball only nine guys can take the field at a time!

Cut down to 13 guys on offense and have only nine guys valued at more than .75

ie have 4 bench guys cost .75 or less

and get 9 good starters

Turtle speaks truth young grasshopper. Also - Dubose is a stud worth 3X his price in the 2003 game. Try to get him if he's available via waivers or trade.

OK so this still THE most confusing thing I've ever done.

Ok so I'm trying to cut the salary, so I'm thinking of offering up a trade to do so.

Tell me what you think.

I would give

A-Rod- $10.35
Molina- $2.02

I would receive

V-Mart- $.67
Eckstein- $ 1.78
Pettitte- $4.91
Nathan- $1.35

It would help me cut $3.66 million, not to mention my pitching staff would be better. Which now houses Harang and Escobar in place of Tucker. So essentially I'm trying to make up for that salary.

I'd need to make this trade go through in order to make another trade happen.

I give Baldelli $2.66 and Soriano $5.05 for Beltran $6.95 and Roberts $2.2.

This is a really hard concept for me to grasp, so I'm going to be needing alot of help from you guys.

Thanks again.

Dubose was taken.

that is an awful awful trade for you...you dont need to cut salary you need to cut players for cheaper ones....

No.2 keep A-Rod at all costs

You know have 17 hitters!!!!!! CUT DOWN TO 13!!!

that is not hard to grasp...you only need 9 guys to play everyday!!!!

To make matters worde you have 11 pitchers tooo!!!!

you should have 23 players on your roster not 28!!!!
