I was curious to know how he has performed for other managers to help me decide whether or not to cut him. I'm playing in PETCO and after 42 games he has the following stats:
BA .240
OB .345
SLG .349

Here's Atkins for a full season:

Respectable, not earth-shattering.

JP, those are really good numbers for a 7.25M player. He did well for you, IMO.

He's definitely helped by seeing more lefties, which is something to consider. Atkins in US Cell:

Doc,
Didn't really mean to suggest I was disappointed with Atkins' numbers, just that I never got the sense he really carried the team for a stretch like some players can. Numbers are very solid though.

I've had pretty good results out of him the two times I've used him (in both a hitters park and a pitchers park). Personally, I think he's a pretty good high end bargain. He has well above average power, on-base and hitting ability. Every bit as good as Miguel Cabrera at a better price...PLUS he has 1B eligibilty.
Here are my experiences with him:
In Kauffman:

In Rogers:

Brian, it really wasn't a conscious decision to go after 3 LHSPs. I was trying to go after the best $2 mil and under SPs I could find. Davis and Pettitte give up very little power to RH, while Moyer's low OB make up for the pop he gives up to RH (basically, a LH version of Beckett who also fared well). When I saw that I ended up with 3 LHSP, I figured that the +3 L/R HR split in Rogers wasn't enough of a differential to get me to go with lesser RHSPs. I knew they were gonna get hit. I just wanted them to not get bludgeoned as bad as I bludgeoned the opponent's pitchers
