Need some help

:) I am an old, 1960s player of the original card game. Absolutely loved it. Use to put teams together in a draft and make up divisions with a few teams in each divivsion. I now want to do it on the computer and buy the game. However, I am confused as to what to buy. Someone please help. Here is what I want to do.

Play a season of 162 games with playoffs etc.
Have computer keep all stats.
Me be able to play a certain teams games and the computer play the rest.
I want the 2006 season to put together all star teams.
Then I want past players. I sassume I could buy the disc of 1960 and up to modern time and I assume pre 1960s. Does this make sense? Finally, are there any graphics at all so my 9 year old son gets into it as well? Please help me and let me know what I need to purchase. Thanks,

You're on the wrong board; this board is to discuss the TSN online game, not the solo play computer game. You want the Strat Fan Forum.

That said, since you're apparently from Queens, I will answer your question ;) You can accomplish the first four things on your list by buying the current game with card image option. (Trust me, you want the card image option -- especially if you were an old cards & dice player, but really, even if you weren't. It lets you see the cards on-screen; otherwise, you can't.)

Then, as you say, you can buy the older seasons. Buying all of them since 1960 would be exceedingly expensive... but you can pick and choose the particular seasons you want, they're all there. And/or you can buy the Career Historical Disk, which has career cards for every player in history.

There really aren't "graphics." All there is is an [i:5b0a24820f]extremely[/i:5b0a24820f] primitive depiction of a pitcher throwing the ball, and the ball going to wherever on the field it got hit. (You can also get nice-looking stadium photos to be used as backdrops. Costs an extra $29.50, though.) I would suggest you get your son into it with the card game! That's the best way, IMO. If you want the cards along with your computer game order, it's only an extra eight bucks.
