There isn't a pitcher on your staff I would want (including Clemens) for an Ameriquest team. While no 07 park is heavily slanted, it still would be wise to pick up a LH or a LH slanted pitcher or two that does not have many, if any, ballpark HR's on it. You're in a division where you have nothing but hitters parks, with your park being the least hitting friendly one of the bunch.

As for your hitting, well, there isn't much there I would want either. You have no SS, and your OF has nothing but 3's and 4's in it, except for Baldelli, who, if full time, will be on the DL more often than not. The player you plan on cutting first in favor of Hafner may be the only hitter I would want. Interestingly, if I had to choose a second player from this team I would want, it would be the player who you have listed as your second cut.

Hafner would be a good option for this team though, but without seeing what's available, probably not at the expense of Johnson. You already have your DH in Manny, so I hope you're not selecting Hafner to play 1st. If your plans are to play Manny in the OF and DH Hafner, you best get some better D at the other 2 OF spots. You'll need a tablesetter, some better defense, and a quality RP or two. With the division spiced with hitting parks, you can focus on hitters with ballpark HR's more than one would normally.

We'll explore your options again after waivers.

I don't think it is as bad as Jerlins does. Schilling and Riske have to go IMO. Since you have Clemens you have to have a 5 man rotation. Look for Cain or Cabrera type (few BP HRs) instead of Schilling.

Your RP look OK outside of Riske.

Beltre just doesn't hit enough. There are plenty of good hitting 3B this year. I know you can do better than Beltre. You have to have a 1 or 2 at SS even if you have to sacrifice offense at that position. OCab or Betancourt are fine here.

Manny hits enough to make up for his 4 fielding but you can't have another 4 in RF. I really like Baldelli and have used him several times. He has always produced and having Griffey or Taveras as his backup is perfect.

Only pitchers I'd keep would be Clemens and MABYE Farnsworth. So you need to retool with 4 new SPs. I can't see the SP pool available, but remember you're in a BP where there are more BP singles AND hr's...so pick carefully. I'm also not a fan of Todd Jones as a Closer.

You need a 2 or lower at SS.

Dropping Johnson for Hafner would be great, then move Norton to 1B with Hafner DH-ing (can't believe he went udrafted!!)

Like Bombers said, you can do better than Beltre. Lowell is a great option if available.

I don't think Baldelli's worth the money given the injuries on a 9.

There are a lot of great OF platoons...like Bombers said, Manny's ok as the LF, but can't afford any other 4's out there.

I don't think any of your waiver claims will do anything for you....looks like you're exchanging broccoli for cauliflouer (sp?)

Good luck...post your post-waivers to see how you did.

Man I don't know what Jerlins is smoking, but I love Clemens in ANY park. he has but 1 BP Hr onh his card, vs R. he works well, and has always performed for me every time I have gotten him.

I would drop Schilling for a better SP for sure, Conteras, Gorzelanny, Suppan, or even as cheap as Duke.

I like Street a lot more at closer than Jones, if you pick him up on time, or even Wickman for that matter. See if you can grab Heilman as your setup man. Kuo is a better long releif than Downs in your park as well.

As for your hitting, I would try to grab Thome to replace Nick, Hudson for 2b (if you prefer offense over def grab Durham instead), Alex Gonzalez at SS (a 1 there is huge and it's not like any of the Ss's left bring big bats), Mags for RF. then you just need to see how much $$ you have left for a DH and 3b. Probably better to get someone like Rolen/Wright/Zimmerman for 3b if you can swing and get a cheap DH.

There doesn't seem to be anything left in your FA pool to leadoff with besides Theroit, or maybe Diaz. Either one would take your DH spot as they shouldn't see the field.

but that would put you with 2 3's at the top 2 def positions. Not a good idea. If you're going to go with a 3 at 2b or SS, the offense has to outweigh the extra OPS he gives up. Eck and Hill don't.

If you're gonna ask for help then not listen to anyone.... why ask?

im trying to listen
but when either didn't have the money to go towards anything better for the defense @ those posistions wouldn't u agree then to go towards the lesser errors then?

i'll try to re-work the team how I can and post up after waivers

thanks for what help u all have offered, and we will see what i can work out in trades and what not before starting
