I am very new to the game and getting addicted fast. I have seen a number of posts referring to an injury reveal code and reference to a particular card year - what does this mean and how do I find it out for one of my (70's) players. Can you access all card years? Thanks

First of all this post is in the wrong forum. It belongs in the 70's forum.

When you click on a player's card you will see 5 possible years that he could have. If you click on the year (in blue) you can see each of the different cards. If your player gets injured look at the play that occured for his injury. Lets say you find that it was a strikeout. Then you look to see if he was facing a RHP or a LHP at the time. Lets say he was facing Fergie Jenkins who is a RHP. You then click through all of the possible card years to see which card(s) have an injury roll vs a RHP on a strikeout. Sometimes it is only one year so you immediately know what card you have for that player. Other times it is 2 or 3 possible years. I record the possible years on an Excel spreadsheet for later use. Maybe the next time he gets injured vs a LHP and you can narrow it down even more.

Other ways to tell what card year you have is by the length of an injury. If a player is injured for 4 games or longer that means that he is using a card from a season where he had less than 600 PA (hits + walks) or if it is a pitcher injury less than 200 IP.

So in the example above with the strikeout injury, lets say that he has 2 possible cards with an injury on a strikeout and he was injured for 10 games. Maybe one of the possible years he had 610 PA and the other only 580 PA. You now know that he is using the 580 PA season card.

Hope this helps!
