Top of the 6th down 3-1. After an out and a walk, HAL pulls starter Tom Gorzelanny for Brendon Donnelly. Donnelly retires the next two.
Top of the seventh, after retiring the first two, Donnelly gives up a walk and a HR but is left in to retire the side. Even up to 27 pitches, HAL leaves him in to start the 8th.

John Buck grounds out but Ricky Weeks singles and advances on a wild pitch. Nick Punto grounds out Weeks going to third.
"Hey Skip, I think Donnelly is getting tired, he's thrown 41 pitches" :?
"ZZZZZZZZZ"

Cabrera rips a single followed by a HR by Reed Johnson. :(
"Uh Skip, Donnelly looks like he's running out of gas"
"ZZZZZZZZZZ"

Jason Bay singles and Ryan Howard goes deep with the second HR in three batters and third given up by Donnelly.
"Uh Skip?"

Andrew Jones follows with another long ball.
"Skip that's four dingers, maybe we oughta get someone up in the pen"
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" :shock:

Ken Griffey singles.
"I don't mean to bother you Skip but that 66 pitches. I think his arm is gonna fall off"
"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

John Buck rips another single.
"Uh Skip, anyone home?"

Mercifly, Ricky Weeks grounds out to end the inning.

Staring out of the dugout in disbelief, R1 Donnelly having thrown 72 pitches and given up 4 HRs strides to the hill to start the 9th inning. . .

Nick Punto, bang - single, Orlando Cabrera follows suit. Reed Johnson reaches on a 4 pitch walk.
"Hello? He's pitching BP when he gets near the plate, and he's 86 pitches in"
"ZZZZZZZZZ"

Next up Jason Bay and there it goes, HR #5 given up by Donnelly.

HAL wakes up and brings in Roberto Hernandez now that the game is 15-1 figuring on the big comeback in the bottom of the 9th.

Gotta Love HAL :D

The moral of this story. Whatever Uncle HAL wants to do, HAL will.
