This isn't about strat but TSN doesn't have any good place for this type of topic anymore (that anyone reads anyway).
For any itunes/ipod folks out there, can you tell me how to either move a playlist from the ipod to the apple playlist library on the Microsoft PC, or burn a CD directly from the PC connected ipod?
I know I can just recreate the playlist manually in itunes, but that seems rather stupid to do since its already there on the ipod.
I am not a Mac user, and I'm starting to wonder why I allowed myself to get sucked into buying an ipod. itunes and ipods are not living up to their claim of being easy to use.

Charlie, if you have a playlist on your ipod it should be duplicated in itunes. Itunes on your pc controls what's on your ipod. They should be synched.
In the itunes front page it should show your playlists. Click on the playlist and then the burn CD icon in the lower right and you should be set.

Thanks, stoney.
I did not have "Sync Ipod" selected on the front page. When I try to select it now, I'm told that syncing will erase everything on my ipod and replace it with the playlists from itunes.
But here's the problem. I've been making playlists directly on my ipod instead of the itunes playlist folder. I want to get those playlists on my ipod to itunes, or I want to be able to burn a CD from a playlist on the ipod which isn't on itunes.
Am I screwed?

Hi Charliewb,
Not sure about "Sync Ipod" and the resetting part. I know what your talking about but I had my "Syncing" from the start. And when I have a playlist I am able to burn a cd. So if you don't that many songs on your ipod you might have to bite the bullet and "resync" it. But after everything is "synced up" right you will be able to burn a play list. Best of luck.

Charlie,
Try plugging in your ipod, open itunes, click on the ipod under devices. This should show the playlists on the ipod.
See if you can sych a specific playlist from the ipod to itunes. 2nd option would to try dragging the playlist from the ipod to itunes.
Good luck.

Appreciate the tips. So far no luck, though. I'm not able to drag playlists from the ipod to itunes, and in devices the only playlists I am allowed to sync are the ones in itunes.
Sigh. Very frustrating. Looks like I will have to manually rebuild all of my ipod playlists into itunes, at least any that I want to burn to a CD. I'm not going to sync with itunes, I'll lose too many playlists. But I will now create new playlists only in itunes, which I can then upload into the ipod. But it really shouldn't have to work this way.
thanks again.
