vazquez or westbrook

with diamond dope not allowed for 2007 cards, who would you rather have as your last starter? vazquez has better whip, but it seems westbrook seems to win more with worse e.r.a. and whip numbers? im in the trop.

Depends if you like risk. Vazquez is the better value. He gives up less ob and hits vs. lefties, but nearing 4x as many hrs as Westbrook (vs. l). He gives up more hrs versus righties too, but less ob, hits, and tbs. Unless you have three hitters parks in your division, I'd go with Vazquez.

I would use Westbrook just because of the #HR factor vs LH hitters.

its kind of a tossup, ive seen vazquez have won 16 win season, but in leagues where both are used, westbrook typically has a winning record, but significantly higher e.r.a and whip. i think his ability to produce groundballs is a factor, if you have decent infield defense, and avoiding the hr ofcourse.

Diamond Dope is still available. Just have to plug in the numbers manually.

it;s a great tool setup by one of our benevelont strat brothers, agabriel, to help determine which cards work best for which parks at www.diamonddope.com. unfortunetly, S.O.M. won't allow the new cards to be programmed into it, so its mostly an invaluable aid for us atg addicts...or as jerlins suggested, if you've got the time and the no how, you can program any card or any park individually/manually
