Anyone care to explain how a guy with a card this good can have stats this bad. His era is 5.34 and whip 1.48. I'm in Coors but Ryan gives up no ballpark effect singles to lefties? I suppose he's pitched tired once in a while but even then he has a better card than most pitchers in the league. There are only a handful of lefties who hit left hand pitching yet lefties are hitting .333 against him? Anyone venture to guess what percentage he rolls it away when facing lefties?
Ryan, B.J. (L, 2L)
vs. L 93 31 9 29 6 .333 vs. R 233 58 29 57 8 .249

I've had him a couple of times before and that's more like what I've come to expect. Should I drop him or keep thinking the law of averages is on my side?

I tend to ride out "slumps", but that is quite a few AB's vs LH hitters. If you can find a good pickup that would strengthen another area of your team, I might do it. The top relievers can be really good and make your squad. I made the finals in a league with my Ryan(above) where I really thought my team sucked. When you get their "stinker" season, they really don't do much better than T Jones or Borkowski would do and they cost much more. If your at the point where you have nothing to lose, I would lean towards making a move and hope to get lucky with a cheaper guy, especially if there is another decent guy in your pen. If you are still in the thick of it, I might hope for him to come around figuring your competetive with him doing poorly and hope for improvement.
As bad as this?

JJ Putz at Chase.
44 2 3 29 56.0 62 25 11 82 4.02 1.30
With 10 blown saves and a cool 5 1/2 mill salary. No wonder I am only 2 games over 500.

Ryan is da man but I'm 13 games out and decided to make wholesale changes. I was curious to see if his stats improved by riding it out but rather try to finish the season with a winning record. Another interesting note is other lefties on my team (sabbathia, marte) are also getting hit harder by lefties? Dice roll probabilities or has HAL blown a processor?
