trying to put tgether a team with high OBP . Any thoughts?
Most teams playing neutral or pitcher parks in league. Rogers center only team in hitting park in league.

I like your pitching staff. I'd change Neshek for a more balanced RP though, he's too extreme for the money. Then make the 3 scrub RP's MORE extreme.

Hitting looks good. I use Jacobs a lot, and never had good luck with Howard (only tried him twice though), so I'd probably dump him for Helton or Johnson, unless you move Berkman to 1b, and then invest in your outfield with the Howard money. That would give you a solid infield with Atkins the only fielding weakness, but shouldn't hurt too much at 3b anyway.

I can't view your free agent pool for some reason, but definitely think you can revamp your entire outfield for something better then Kotsay, Reed and Drew.

Hope it helps, good luck!

Gotta agree with k here.

My 2 cents:

Not crazy about Willis giving up all of those hits AND walks. You might be better off with a Moyer or a Glavine.

In pitching parks, I kinda like to have 2 big hitters and the rest, what I call 30/30 guys. Or at least a 30 guy in a platoon.

30/30 guys are guys with at least 30 hit chances vs. RH's and LH's. 30 guys have the hit chances only 1 way.

You have 1 guy, Johnson, who is a 30/30 guy. Then you have Atkins and Castillo who have 30 hit chances only 1 way.

IMHO, these are the natural hitters that you need to have in pitching parks.

i agree on willis. will swap him out.
one question on hit chances. How do you determine hit chances? i have seen this before but can't remember how.

2 ways

1. Buy the Strat ratings book (it breaks down all players)

2. Actually count the chances on the cards. On the cards, hitters have chances between 2-12. A hit on 2 would be 1 hit chance. A hit on 3 would be 2 hit chances etc...

DiamondDope.com (diy tab) is a good tool if you don't spend the money to buy the book.

I'm not a huge Drew fan. But maybe that's because I grew up near Philly. What about Delmon Young? Duffy will steal some bases and play great D, but he's going to be a lineup hole.

The Duffy comment is dead on. He was my starting CF on a team that is in the finals. He won a gold glove, stole 30 bases and hit .192 in 500 AB's.

I personally don't mind using duffy on pitching or small ball teams. He is like the cheap 1 SS that we used to get (of which there are none this year), and his speed and defense alone are worth the sub 2 million price tag.

i have used duffy twice this year and got about the same results. I usually go with slugging teams but am trying something different this time. i am hoping that the defense and steals will offset the lack of hitting. the extra money was spent on berkman and howard and i'm hoping that will make up the difference.
this team is solid defensively with all 2's or better, except atkins at 3b.
Pitching ok
went for high avg/obp hitters
berkman/howard have alot of natural HR's

and besides it was a free credit
