Using an S/R pitcher

Using an S/R pitcher

I have Liriano and my bullpen isn't getting the job done. If I use him as a reliever and a starter, will this affect his starts? What I'm saying is will he be fatigued when he starts?

If he's in your rotation then he won't be used in relief. If you force him to start by using per-game starters without putting him in the rotation then yes, he could end up starting while fatigued. You can't force HAL to use him in relief, though, so you may or may not get many relief innings out of him this way.

I would also add that you paid a heavy price to have him start, and he will ultimately give you the most innings by starting him. Using him in relief does not get the most out of what you paid for him.

ok, got ya. That was what I figured. Was thinking of having him start and pitch in relief, but if he's going to be fatigued for his starts then there is no sense.
