This is my first team in a few years. Don't see anyone ever using P. Fielder, could anyone tell me why?

Only a guess here. Not a very good hitting card and bad defense. Doesn't hit righties well and thier are much better 1B to get. That is a position that most teams grab heavy hitters against righthanded pitching. I would not take him and you are right I don't think I have ever seen him drafted.

I've got Prince Fielder at 1B on a Coors team, and it's not working out very well at all. Through 21 games, he's committed 3 errors, is batting .185, and has only hit 2 homers. I don't know if that's just a slow start, or what. Ichiro Suzuki is only batting .211 for me over the same span, and Garrett Atkins and Matt Holiday are both well above .350. We'll see how things pan out at the end of the year, but it's not looking great right now.

After watching Fielder muck it up for 30 games, with several errors and almost no offense to speak up, I wound up dumping him for Scott Hatteberg. Not the sexiest replacement, but at least the guy should get on base, not strike out, and contribute a little with the stick. I really thought Fielder would produce more than what I got out of him.

good to hear others had the same experience with this blob...what a stiff. only use he would have would be keeper league to get next year's card. yech...(I also dumped him, but gave him more than his ample waist, or is that waste, line of opportunity to bust out. he merely busted)

Just for an update, after switching from Price Fielder to Scott Hatteberg at firstbase (I know, not the most appealling of options), my team has gone from six games under .500 and nine games out of first, to 4 games over .500 and four games out of first, two games out of the wild card. Certainly not the best team that I have ever put together, but it's been pretty fun to watch its transformation after the couple of midseason moves I felt forced to make. Usually, I don't agree with dropping players during the season, but this time I felt I had to.

As a mid season replacement for another ham handed 1b,N.Johnson, Fielder has hit .378 in 79 AB's with 7 2b's 4 HR's and 18 rbi..he also is credited with 4 E's.
I think he can play in a division with 3 hitters parks and where he will face plenty LHP as that is where his power resides. In this scenario he is a value. In the same scenario except with more RHP you go with Shelton. Or I like the platoon of Gomez and Lee for abouth the same $ and much better D.
