Injury Questions

i am sure this has been asked before but...

1) I know players with over 600 at bats are generally safe from injury (I believe they only get hurt for the game or perhaps 3 games at most) but is there a breakdown for other at bat totals? For instance, would there be a big difference between a player with 450 at bats and 550?

2) How do injuries for pitchers work? If I have two starters with less than 100 inning each should i expect them to get injured a lot during the season?

Sorry for the long questions
Clayton

There is no sliding scale. If they have less that 600 pa's (ab's + BB's) they can be injured for up to 15 games.

Pitchers are only injured if the DH is batting a a 6-6-6 roll comes up, very low % but does happen. Pitchers with less that 200 ip can go down for up to 15 games, those 200 and above max 3 games (ie most * sp's won't miss any games)

Thanks for the reply. Jeff Francis has 199 IP but has the "*". He would still fall into the possibllity of missing a start because he has 199 IP or does the "*" superseed that?

yes. That why I said "most" * sp's. Some do not have 200 ip and hence can miss a start.

I figured that to be the case but thanks for the confirmation.

Just one more confirmation, Adrian Gonzalez who has 652 plate appearances (570 AB's and 82 walks) would not get injured for more than three games at a time, is this correct?

Correct

< 600----------15 games max
600-679-------3 games max
680-------------remainder of game
