You have spent too much in the pen and not enough on decent starters. Keep Hoff and 1 of the 2 mil+ RP's ...cut the other 2 for cheap specialist under 1 mil. The cheapies you have now are decent enough but there are others that have done better...I love Sanchez(R3) for.61...go with 10 pitchers.

I assume that you are going to upgrade at 2b.....I'd rethink Juan in CF if possible...Kotsay or Taveras are better and cheaper options IMO. Yu need a platoon with Raul in LF...Ross is the stud but there are others that are affordable as well. Napoli is decent at C but again there are cheaper more effective options( D.Ross would help in 2 areas...$ and vs. LHP). You do need a better 2nd C than Fick...he blows( or sux..take your pick). Lastly, you are weak vs. LHP...you need a stud to pound LHP...there are many cheap options.

Just some thoughts.

Not that I know what I am doing, because I suck at this game. But, I played chase with a Rogers Centre, U.S. Cell, and Jacobs in it. So even though I was worst in the league this may or may not help you.

I dumped Hendrickson.

Tm G W L S IP H ER BB SO ERA WHIP
BWD 26 5 10 0 143.2 161 89 78 84 5.58 1.66

Hafner did a great job for me. Also look at what I got out of Polonco batting 7th.

Best of luck.

IMO you are still too weak in SPs. I'd continue looking for lower cost RPs and put the $ into upgrading SPs. For example, D. Sanchez is a righty specialist. There are others for less - Springer if available for 1.4 or Donnelly for .97 can do the same job for less. I would be worried about Hendrickson, Morris, and Loewen. IMO you need at least one other reliable SP as I wouldn't count on those 3 after Johnson and Capuano.

Also, IMO your OF is still weak vs. LHP as both Hawpe and Ibanez are very pro RHP.

The title of this thread should be "Pitching NEEDS Helps".

You need some defense to help them out at least. You have too many DH types in the lineup. A 4 at first, an oft injured 3 at 2nd with no viable replacement, a 4 at 3rd, a spaghetti armed, light hitting CFer, surrounded by two 4's in the OF, both of which need platoon mates.

What is Tracy's purpose on this team? You already have a DH in Hafner (amongst others).

I'd keep Hafner, Delgado, Cabrera, Tejeda, and maybe Ibanez (only if you find a platoon mate and better options at the other 2 OF spots) as your base and upgrade the other positions. You really need some top of the order guys as well for the boppers to drive in.

R. Johnson, D. Willis, S. Olson, or C. Hamels. Who's the best fit.

Is this looking better?

I think its looking better. A few thoughts for they’re worth:

1. 2 of the other 3 teams in your division are geared to hit LHPs pretty well, so I'd drop Randy Johnson in favor of Ben Sheets. In most of the leagues I've seen and based on personal experience, Sheets will do a lot better than Randy. Plus, with Josh Johnson you've committed to having a 5-man rotation for the most part so you don’t need Randy’s * rating.

2. I'd also consider dropping D. Sanchez in favor of a guy like Juan Cruz - both are righty-oriented, but since Cruz can start you could swing Cruz or Loewen as the 5th starter based on match-up.

3. The top of the order issue raised by a few other folks is valid. I haven’t seen Pierre do particularly well in the lead-off spot, plus is arm is bad. I’d consider using Nick Johnson in the lead-off spot b/c of his OBP.

Good luck.
