Ramirez at 3B in Turner Field

Ramirez at 3B in Turner Field

Postby STEVEPONEDAL » Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:28 pm

I am torn between; Ramirez, Spezio and Youkilis at 3B in Turner Field. Will Ramirez cretae lots of out from the BPHRs? I was thinking I might need some power?

Thanks

The closer is a little weak, but outside of that the team looks pretty darn good. Spezio usually does good for me, but I think Ramirez fits your lineup better. You need the better power facing lefties that Ramirez gives. IMHO

I agree with dennis, your team looks good, but the closer is week. Not sure why you'd consider Youklis at 3rd though. I don't like Guillen's 33 E's at SS and a little better def is CF would be nice but on the whole you should have a good season.

The answer seems ridiculously obvious IMO. I agree, why even consider Yuke with his horrid "D" when there is an abundance of capable 3B. Also, why Spezio, whose big advantage are his #HR's, which doesn't fit your park that well. Not too mention you already have plenty of LH hitting(a little too much IMO) that does fit your park. I would like too see maybe another RH hitter.

Something else to consider. Your lineup is biased towards performing better against RH pitchers. If your division is loaded with LHP, you may need to balance things out a bit more.

Also I think Drew is overpriced, then again I may be biased because he underperformed on the couple of teams I drafted him. This may be a good place to switch to a RH batter as Durantjerry suggests, and maybe free up some $ to upgrade your closer.

Great suggestions!!

I guess I was worried about Ramirez's BPHRs being outs in my park which by consensus seems unfounded.

Also, earlier this AM, I was looking at picking up Ordonez for Drew. I also had bad experience with Drew. Adding Ordonez may mean I don't need 2 platoons and can drop Salmon.

With the xtra $$, I think I will pick up Street as my closer.

Thanks

So, here is where I sit

Postby STEVEPONEDAL » Sat Dec 08, 2007 6:51 pm

So here is where I sit: I piCke up M Diaz for RF. So, I think my line-up against RHPs is:

DH Lofton
1B Overbay
RF Diaz
LF Ramirez
SS Guillen
3B Ramirez
C Kendall
2B Roberts
CF Roberts

Against LHPs is:

C Kendall
DH Cruz
RF Diaz
LF Ramirez
SS Guillen
1B Overbay
CF Roberts
3B Ramirez
2B Roberts

Could I do better?

Thanks

I really like Ordonez so if you can get him for RF still I think you'd be better off. Team looks better now though.
