2005 Game (2004 season) Tips?

Postby fredpaii » Sat Dec 22, 2007 11:13 am

Just purchased my first 2005 team and I have no idea who the better deals are. Who do you like to play fom that set?

Which parks do you play in (for 2005)?

Thanks

Castilla at 3b. 3 out of 4 times I use him in hitter or neutral parks, he is a stud. 1 out of 4 times he sucks. When he hits good, he is a bargin at 4.85 mil. I have had good results from Sosa, and Rowand always performs.

Greinke often surprises at SP.

Many other hidden, and not so hidden gems. I will leave to others to share a few more.

One of Castilla's better performances for me:

Castilla, not so good. Greinke pretty good. In a gopher ball park no less:
Also,Sosa often can put up numbers like these or better.

(Teams from my early days. Man, I used to use the bullpen a lot :o )

I love the 2005 set. I have had 68 teams, and will probably keep on playing it. Lots of great hitters, lots of bargains, great high-injury risk players. A few tips for you:
Randy Johnson should be #1 on every draft card. Yes he is expensive, but he is worth every penny in my book. Pedro Martinez and Ted Lilly are a lot cheaper and not as dominant, but are a lot better than some of the other pitchers in 2005.
Kerry Robinson, Jay Payton, Edgar Martinez and Quinton McCracken are all great values for under a buck.
Jimmy Rollins is another player that should be on every draft card for 2005.
Here is a link from my last 2005 team that won a championship.

Here is another 2005 team of mine. This one was a bomber team in Coors. Check out Munson. Another great bargain in a hitters park.

14 leagues x 12 teams per league = 168 teams to learn from.
