BALLPARK INFORMATION GUIDE FOR NEWBIES.

Do you think there is any chance we could get some information together for new Strat players to help them when deciding what players and strategies to use in different ballparks? I know that when I started playing Strat in May I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and so leaned heavily on information from these forums. I know that there is already a Newbie thread on this forum but that concerns the line-up, roster configuration, pitching and manager strategies. There doesn't seem to be that much information on what sort of players suit certain ballparks. I have found general information (on the old forum mostly), on Coors and Petco and some more detailed information on Wrigley but most of the other parks do not have much discussion on them.

When I started I was so concerned with the basics and getting myself used to the game that I completely ignored ballprks until my 2nd or 3rd team. I think that any info on parks we can put together for Newbies will greatly help them and stop them from leaving the game if they do not succeed straight away. It will also increase the player pool and enrich the strat community even more.

Anyone got any tips on particular parks so we can start a help guide?

Actually, if you look in the archives of somworld.com , I believe you will find something similar.

I saw "How to win at Coors and Pac Bell" but nothing else on other parks. I think the knowledge pool could be made larger if we put our experiences up on the forum, i.e. Players to try and get; players to avoid, L/R or switch hitters, relevance of Natural HR's on card; Relevance of BPHR's on card etc etc.

I myself wish they would let you choose your stadium BEFORE you pick the players that you want. How is someone supposed to know the ratings for all the parks and pick the right players they need when they don't even see it until AFTER they make their picks??? This is stupid if you ask me.
