Which do you prefer and why, book or disk?

I prefer the disk because you can add so much more information and then sort.

Read Dean's article [url]http://forums-beta.sportingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=326702[/url] on Offense/Defense calculations. Many props to Dean for sharing his work. Many others have also contributed their thoughts on rating players and I use some of this in my calculations.

Makes it easier to rate players for the ballpark you choose. I also look at my opponents teams and see where their strengths and weaknesses are. Much easier to do this with the disk than the book.

True...but unless you've got a laptop, the ratings book is a good read in the lavoratory.

This is my 3rd year of purchasing the ratings guide. Two years ago I started by purchasing the book and enjoyed it. Last year I decided to go with the disk so that I could look at it on my computer. I found that I didn't like it nearly as much as there is so much data that it stretches way off your screen so you have to scroll back and forth just to try and grasp everything.

This year I went back to the book which I find more handy and easier to use. So you have to flip from one page to another when comparing players. I still find that easier than trying to get the 2 players you are comparing together on the spreadsheet and then scroll back and forth to compare stats.

I still enjoy the old fashioned way of studying the cards and trying to build a team from there. However, I am always up for a good bathroom read!

Actually, I have no idea what the ratings book/disc entails? Does it provide analysis of each players card, lefty/righty probabilities, etc...?

Right now I'd settle for a stack of 2008 SOM cards to flip through!
