Does Cuddyer help this team score some runs

I am trying to improve my winning percentage against LHP. I am 14 and 20 against them after 93 games. About one-third of my ABs are against LHPs.

I play in Angels Stadium, there is Petco (1 LHSP), Minute Maid (3 LHSPs) and Coors Field (1 LHSP).

I am thinking about dropping Luke Scott, who doesn't seem to be doing all that well for me, and adding Cuddyer.

I may also jettison Iguchi, this is the 1st bad season he has had for me, and adding Carroll.

Is this something from the lunatic fringe or viable?

I agree with Chasenally that your team is doing well. So I would be careful about making changes where you have to pay a big drop penalty. I have not had great experiences with Scott, but he seems to be doing OK for you. His OB is the highest of your regulars. And Cuddyer is not enough of a big jump up to be worth it. Iguchi for Carroll sounds good though.

So I'd encourage standing pat, unless the teams you are likely to meet in the playoffs have a number of LH starting pitchers. And if I did make a move, I'd look for somebody better than Cuddyer.

The only reason for my concern is that I am starting to lose my intra-dvsional edge. There are 5 starting lefties on the other 3 teams. I will face those teams over the last 2 weeks.

But standing pat until we get closer to that datewill work.

What about adding Juan Cruz? I may have missed him and he's not a free agent, in which case sorry. However, if he's available you could get him by dropping lower-end guys like Lofton or Murphy. I've had good luck with Cruz vs. LHPs, plus he has some speed and can play all the OF spots. That way you can keep Scott to mash RHPs. Just a thought.

I don't completely agree with the responses that suggest standing pat, because you currently sport a nice W-L record. Your net runs scored over runs against is only 4%, and many of your wins are attributed to unheralded members of your bullpen. This suggests that a lot of your wins were of the 1 run, late comeback variety, and I doubt your luck will hold over the course of a full season.

But rather than cutting a player and taking the penalty, maybe you could find a team that needs a righty killer and trade Luke Scott for a lefty killer. Look for someone with a bad W-L against Righties, and sell the trade that way--it'd save you both 20% on transaction fees.

Kielty is cheap $1,700,000 and very good against LHP. Brenden Harris 2B is also very good against LHP and he is only $500,000. They are no secret to most and are probably gone. You might be able to trade for them. They are only good against LHP however. Sorry about my first post I was trying to be funny. Was in that kind of a mood last night. Good Luck.
