Relief Availibility Question

Heading into Game 5 of the first round tonight. Lost the first 2 at Shea, won the next two at home at Wrigley - back at Shea tonight with an unfortunate mismatch of SPs - I'm starting Wolf (LE - 1.44M), against Glavine (L1R - 4.51). My mostly righthanded lineup didn't bother Glavine much in Game 1, unfortunately. And with a less skilled SP going for me tonight, I expect to need my pen more.

My question is, Benitez is my bullpen stud, backed by Juan Cruz and Chad Qualls (plus a couple scrubs behind them). Benitez appeared in Game 4, going one inning. He appeared in Game 3, going three innings. He didn't pitch in Game 2, but pitched an inning in Game 1. Is he available tonight? Cruz and Qualls definately are, but the dropoff in talent compared to Benitez is pretty stark - I'd hate to not have Armando in this last ditch effort to pull victory from the jaws of defeat...

I think he is available. I've seen relievers pitch in three straight games.

Typically Hal will not let a reliver pitch 3 games in row. In most cases when a reliever does pitch in 3 games in a row its when your all of your relievers are tired and Hal has no choice.

I would bet that Benetiz does not make an appearance in Game 5.

Well, I kinda figured he might be available for a third game in a row, but then worried that because he went three innings in Game 3, it would prevent that. Well, I'm not particularly confident it'll matter given the ways in which my team's unprepared for Shea...had a great Wrigley team this season, but here it looks like the run will end...and as a Mets fan I must say I'm pissed that Shea's gonna kill me!

No worry to have here. TSN-SOM (contrary to most SOM leagues) don't add up innings for two games.
