How to do 1 Game Injury Sub for 3 game series

Postby GlenBrummer » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:07 pm

I have Dmitri Young injured for the 1st game of the nightly 3 game series. Young has a high OBP and bets high in my lineup. His only position replacement has a low OBB against righties (and we face a righty starter). From what I can tell I cannot make a 1 game lineup change in the series. Correct? In real baseball I would drop his sub to number 8 or 9 but to do so would mean dropping Young to 8 or 9 for the last 2 games in the series as well. Any other solution?

Hal will take care of that

Leave Young in his normal spot in the line-up. The computer (Hal) will place his replacement is the 'best' position for that 1st game. My guess is the line-up decision won't be too different from what you would do. So the replacement would probably bat way down in the order, even though you have the injured Young batting high up.

Thanks for the answer. I have always wondered this myself and usually subbed the guy and moved him down the order. Nice to know that he would most likely be moved down the lineup anyhow.
