PLEASE READ: My Challenge to You

I hope you are all enjoying the free 1986 game like I am. :D

Now that I've started a few teams, it's time to step back and look at the big picture. It seems like there are two reasons Bernie and the Boys gave us the 1986 game for free: (1) as a "Thank You" gift for us loyal customers, and (2) as a promo to get some new blood into our online community.

Because I like this game and this community so much, I'm motivated to try to recruit some friends to the game. My [color=green:0e1322bd04]challenge[/color:0e1322bd04] to you is to do the same. Recruit some friends from work, long-time friends, your kids or parents, other relatives, people who play fantasy baseball, etc. FYI, here is the email I blind-copied to a bunch of people:[quote:0e1322bd04]Hello, fellow baseball fans. This is an exciting time of year for us, with playing softball, MLB spring training, and playing fantasy baseball.

I wanted to fill all of you in on one more way to suck your time into baseball – Strat-O-Matic Baseball online. Some of you know what this game is, and some of you don’t. In a nutshell, it started as a card and dice game back in the 1970’s to simulate baseball with MLB player stats. Nowadays, both a card version and a computer version of “Strat” are available. About five years ago, The Sporting News partnered with Strat, and has an online version. You can play in a league with 2007 season stats, 2006 players, all-time great players, etc. Strat is an awesome game, and is much more detailed than typical fantasy baseball.

Each league you play online cost $25. However, they just announced a free version for a limited time, using the 1986 season. So if you have any interest, this is a great time to give it a try.

To learn more, click this link: http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/stratomatic/. From there you can click on:
 “Strat-O-Matic 101” to learn more about the game
 “Reasons to Choose Strat-O-Matic” to see why the simulation is so accurate
 “1986” for a free game (or click on one of the other versions for the $25 game)

Let me know if you join in, so we can meet up online.

- Glenn

Glenn,

Great idea.
I hope you won't mind if I cut and paste your email?

I told a couple of my friends about the free leagues and they joined.

Strato's marketing plan is probably going to be pretty successful.
