Any of the S O M regulars have any advise on how to handle a trade that just went down in a new 1986 league. Here are the details:

Date of trade: Sat, 03/01, 05:20:15pm EST

K******* ******s traded:
Concepcion, Dave ($1,050,000)
Valenzuela, Fernando ($7,900,000)

to P******* S****** for:
Alexander, Doyle ($1,360,000)
Reynolds, Craig ($820,000)

Thanks

Big Ric

im in the league, and have some concerns...but the manager who got fleeced did indeed pick up alot of cash, and is playing in the kingdome, so fernando might not be his best investment anyway. im waiting to see how he spends the 9m in cash he has now...

If the trade happened before waivers, its probably just a cash move. I've done the same thing on rare occasions.

If it was a cash move why wasnt Fernando offered to the other 10 managers?

my only concern would be w/ the 86 set quality pitching is rare, why trade off velenzuela and get junk in return?

Was it a preseason trade?
What did he do with the freed up cash?

I didnt realize the timing ntexas...and as you know from our league email, this inquiry really got under his skin. he did indeed spend the cash, not all that wisely, but he had a plan of some sort.
