Hi,

I am looking to run a base team league again for the 6th year. It will be whatever the $80 mil. salary is and a DH league.

The Rules:

1. You must keep at least 20 players that played for your base team in 2005 on your roster at all times during the season (a 2 for 1 trade might change that but by game time you have to have 20 players from your base team).
2. Play in the home park of your base team.
3. You can spend up to 4 mil for a player that used to play for your base team in the Draft, Free Agent/Waivers & trading pool.
4. You can spend up to 2 mil for a player that has never played for your team in the Draft, Free Agent/Waivers & trading pool.
5. Trades work the same way if a player played for your team you can use up to 4 mil to trade for him, if he never played for your team you can only use up to 2 mil to acquire him.
6. If during the auto draft you somehow get a player that is carded with another teams’ base team you must release him asap.
7. All players carded for a base team belong to that team for the year. If someone has the A’s and there is a player that is carded to the A’s in the Free Agent list only the A’s may pick that player up. (Unless a team would like to renounce their rights to a player).
8. All players belong to the team that is listed on their card for the whole year.
9. You can only use players that played for your base team in 2007 to count towards your 20 number (ie Santana is counted as a Twin not a Met, also Teixeira is a Brave and not a Ranger).
10. You can’t have a player playing on your team that is from another base team in the league unless there has been a trade or their rights have been renounced.

Some interesting reading past real teams winners:

The actual season is listed not the Strat year

2002 Mariners over Astros 7G (actual WS champ Angels)
2003 Braves over A's 4G (Marlins)
2004 Astros over Twins 5G (Redsox)
2005 Braves over Yankees 6G (Whitesox)
2006 Indians over Angels 5G (Cardinals)

There are lots of good teams left out there guys. This is a fun league. Page 2 runs one like this every year. And you don't need a top team to win. The real World Series winner hasn't won this league. That bodes poorly since I'm the Red Sox this year. But I won it with the Braves not too long ago, and they were nowhere near what you'd call stocked. With the ability to add players that used to play for your team it really evens up competition. Take your favorite team, or one you going to have fun playing and sign up.
