I probably should be the last on giving you tips considering i've only won one championship and two playoff teams. I usually look for real good OBP in a leadoff hitter. Not much power but someone who is going to get on base for your 2,3, and 4 hitters to drive him in. I also look at speed, but it's not a real big concern. As far as telling you someone specifically, the only ones i've had a little success with is Marcus Giles (mostly against lefties) and D'Angelo Jimenez. They're not studs at leadoff but have had some success. But, just my opinion, OBP is important in a lead off hitter, and speed is a plus.

I agree with redneck. OBP first (preferably via walks) before speed. Good OBP mostly via base hits guy should bat second. Also should have low gba's. Best hitter bats 3rd. Best slugger bats 4th. Good hitter with positive clutch bats 5th and so on.

Jamie Burke' Always above a 300 Avg and around 380 on base Ive used him many times at leadoff as a DH.
