trade offer..need advice

Postby colbtq » Fri Dec 02, 2005 4:15 pm

I have been offered Barry Zito, Jake Westbrook and Ramon Hernandez for Pedro Martinez. My home field is Camden Yards...2004 stats.

I currently have no lefties in my rotation...and Westbrook looks like a good fit in Camden(while Pedro doesnt). also Hernandez is an upgrade over Yadier Molina at catcher.

Is this a deal I should do? Advice?

Absolutely not, Pedro is one of the bargains of the 05 game.

No, don't do it. The upgrade of Hernandez over Molina is not worth the downgrade from Pedro to Westbrook. Zito isn't worth much in 2005, and while Westbrook has done well for me often, Pedro is much better this season.

Franco... just wanted to give you some examples of how Westbrook has fared for me on some of my past teams...

Agree that Pedro has better value in pitcher's parks, but in righty favoring parks such as Camden Yards, I believe that Westbrook is at least equal in value.

Actaully, i like westbrook too, for camden yards. i leave it like that, i am in that league with coffee and that other guy, so it wont be fair for me to give output on that.

Well actually...

...looking at the cards instead of what you are trying to get a rookie to BELIEVE, Westbrook is equivalent if you face a team of 7-8 RH bats every series at Minute Maid.

LOL!

PBTR, franca sent me a number of messages indicating he was interested in Zito and Hernandez from my team. I replied with an offer that was: Zito, Hernadez and Westbrook for Pedro and whomever he wanted to throw in. Also indicated that in his park (Camden) I felt that Westbrook should give him equal performance as Pedro.

3 for 1 seems like a fair proposal to me?

Little worried that you think I was trying to "take advantage" of a "rookie"?

If you look at his team,

can you find any other player that may have been an asset to my Shea team (other than Vlad... who I didn't even bother mentioning)?

The funny part is that I just wanted Pedro as trade bait for a LH SP like Lilly/Davis/Glavine.
