WildCard Theme League (FULL)
Posted: Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:27 amFirst and foremost. This Theme League will be a live draft of 12 rounds on the boards. Do not sign up unless you have time for this. We do accept proxies, but you will need time to check in during the days incl. some weekend time as the clock expands on the weekend, but doesn't stop.
I'm requesting[u:3b7d65064a] Vets[/u:3b7d65064a] sign up for this. It might be too complicated for novices, and please don't think of me as a big head, I just know from past experiences. I've been doing this theme for 6 years.

12 players will be live drafted, the remaining 13 will be autodrafted. Each of the 12 rounds will be in the following format: A different position for each owners pick each round. Here are the 12 positions:
8 position players (C,1B,2B,3B,SS,LF,CF,RF)
1 DH (explanation to come)
1 SP
1 RP
1 Wildcard (explanation to come)
Therefore all 12 positions will be accounted for during each round. Here's a "[i:3b7d65064a]mock [/i:3b7d65064a]" round:
Owner1: 2B Iguchi
2: SS Rollins
3: LF Burrell
4: CF Sizemore
5: SP Santana
6: 1B Pujols
7: DH Ortiz
8: 3B Reynolds
9: WC Peavy
10:RF Vlad.
11:RP Wagner
12: C Varitek
As you can see each succeeding owner picks a different position and all 12 rounds are conducted in this fashion.
[b:3b7d65064a]*DH:[/b:3b7d65064a] Can be any position player with a 3 range or worse. No 1 or 2 ranges with the DH pick (no 1 or 2's at any position)
[b:3b7d65064a]*Wildcard [/b:3b7d65064a](hence the name of the league) Can be used 1 time per owner and only once per round. Once you use your WC pick that's it/and once an owner uses a WC pick for a particular round, no more WC's that round. Therefore, 1 WC per round and 1 WC for each owner during the draft. The WC player can be any hitter OR pitcher.
* A player can be used at any position he qualifies at. For example: Ojeda may be used at 3B if 2B had already been picked that round. It also can be a strategic way to block out a position for the remainder of that round.

1) Trading - Allowed. Must be 1 on 1 or 2 on 2, etc. No uneven trades, and trading draft positions is also allowed. All trades must be fair & equitable.
2) $80mil Advanced League with Weighted waivers and a DH. Progressive Drop Penalty. Normal SOM rules after autodraft.
3) Pick a state with a Pick 3 Lotto (when signing up) to determine draft positions.
4) NOT a serpentine format. Everyone gets a shot at first pick with the following format. Here it is:

A. You [u:3b7d65064a]WILL [/u:3b7d65064a]be forced into picking certain positions late in each round especially the wildcard as one HAS to be used every round.
B. It [u:3b7d65064a]MAY[/u:3b7d65064a] happen that a manager gets forced into picking the same position more than once.
C. You may initiate the same position more than once. For example: Just because an owner selected a SP in Round I doesn't mean he can't select a SP in subsequent Rounds.
[b:3b7d65064a]Stadium Selection: [/b:3b7d65064a]
To be selected at any time during the draft in any round along with your draft pick. When you're ready for Stadium selection you post it along with your regular player pick for that round.
[b:3b7d65064a]Divisions: [/b:3b7d65064a]
The first Four to select a park will comprise The East. Next four The Central and last Four The West. This enables someone to challenge or even possibly duck an opponent.
