Scott Elarton Theme Lg (I) FULL

Formerly known as the Lenny DiNardo Theme League.
[b:84c1705e0c]Scott Elarton Theme League Rules:[/b:84c1705e0c]
* This will be a normal Autodraft
* $80M/advanced/DH/weighted waivers/Progressive drop penalty
Now for the fun! This will be a [u:84c1705e0c]hitting league[/u:84c1705e0c]. If you love "pitching", turn your head, run away and get the heck out of dodge!!
[b:84c1705e0c]1. [/b:84c1705e0c]Nobody can own any SP [u:84c1705e0c]over[/u:84c1705e0c] $1M. If you own a SP/RP over $1M he must be used in [u:84c1705e0c]relief only[/u:84c1705e0c]. The penalty for an SP/RP over $1M starting will be benching your highest salaried hitter for 1 series (3 games) the next time you play that opponent. If you don't play that opponent again, then the next series. Note: This penalty doesn't apply if there's an injury [u:84c1705e0c]forcing[/u:84c1705e0c] someone else to start.
2. Important: The max number of SP's under $1M is Five.
3. Everyone will play in 1 of 4 stadiums, with no duplicate stadium within a Division. When you sign-up you place yourself in a Division and list your park. These are the 4 stadiums to be used:
Rogers Centre
GAB
Citizen's Bank
US Cellular
4. Other than all your starters being less than $1M, everyone else can play. SP/RP's over 1mil are ok, but obviously can be used in relief only.
5. How you fill out your draft card will be crucial. Some things I can think of are:
a. Do you try and pick the best SP's under a Mil
b. Do you try and get the best relievers
c. Do you go for the sluggers
This will be fun to say the least, especially those who love Hitting.
Now, the name of the league is the Scott Elarton Theme League. I'm sure you've been asking yourself why did he name the league that? Has Jeep lost it? The answer is no, although debatable.
[color=red:84c1705e0c]Here's why:[/color:84c1705e0c]
Scott Elarton is arguably the worst pitcher in the deck. High ERA & WHIP with BP homers that will make his manager cringe. So he gets the honor of naming rights.
[b:84c1705e0c]---Here's what everyone must do to comply with the theme:[/b:84c1705e0c]
* Everyone, all 12 Owners must put Elarton on their draft card at the[u:84c1705e0c] 25th[/u:84c1705e0c] and last spot. So someone will get Elarton, won't they? Obviously yes.
* The owner who gets him must keep him and use him for the entire season, never dropping him.
* The owner who gets him as a reward gets to claim any player not drafted after the AD and before waivers. IOW, that owner essentially has a free #1 waiver pick, as no owners may put a claim on the player the Elarton owner declares. So Elarton actually becomes a "reward" for the Manager who gets him. And new this year: That owner doesn't have to waist a waiver spot on that declared player. They get him free of charge so to speak and will do waivers as normal.
Vet's are highly preferred. Last Year's Managers get priority and are listed below. Others may sign-up as an alternate. Last year's Managers have until Noon Saturday before it's opened up to the alternates. The league starts May 19th. Let's try and have teams loaded by Monday 12th although that's not written in stone.
