In the example that follows, I understand how to figure out everything but the TB. Does it stand for Total Bases? :? Regardless, how is it figured? Thanks in advance for any replies.

[quote:45c753a1d6="socalchiro"][u:45c753a1d6]Smoltz: [/u:45c753a1d6]
42 K chances vs. righties, 21 vs. lefties
16.2 hit chances vs. righties, 20 vs. lefties.
26.4 TB vs righties, 27.5 vs. lefties
0 DP chances both ways
1.2 HR chances vs. righties, 1 HR chance vs. lefties

[u:45c753a1d6]Penny: [/u:45c753a1d6]
11 K's vs. righties, 20 vs. lefties
22.6 hit chances vs. righties, 10.4 vs. lefties
29.1 TB's vs. righties, 20.4 vs. lefties
11 DP's vs. righties, 12 vs. lefties.
0 HR chances both ways

Both guys have their +'s and -'s. Pick your poison I guess...

Any idea on how it's figured? I guess I'm having a brain fart here

Am I close?

For Smoltz vs RHB:

8.45 chances in singles (easy part)
Then is it .75x5x2 for column 5 roll 6 result? equalling 7.5,
.3x4x4 for the HR odds and .7x4x2 for Doubles odds? Reason I'm wondering if I'm close is that totals 26.35

Also...if Smoltz had walks vs rightys you would have to factor those in as well correct?

Thanks again for any help!

single - 1 base, double - 2 bases, triple - 3 bases, home run - 4 bases

TB - total bases, hits only

OB - on base, hits + walks + hit by pitch

That's how you do it edub. I got 28.4 but I guess the 2 BP singles in the 5 column aren't counted. Here is an example of counting hitter hits by marcus wilby(third post down).

If you don't want to count the cards yourself, you can find the data on this floppy disk that Hal made for us.
