Anyone know how to give a relief pitcher the night off? Is there a way of setting the card to do this?

a starter/reliever can be "hidden" by listing him in the rotation. he won't pitch unless absolutely necessary, ie - extra long inning game or every other reliever is exhausted

you can limit the way a reliever is used on his card by choosing avoid lh or rh hitters, quick hook and limit innings pitched

the settings will reflect the whole 3 game series and not just 1 individual game.

I had Al Holland in a 1986 league and, after a number of games without appearing, I discovered that I had inadvertently set him to both 'avoid LH' and 'avoid RH'. Based on this, it seems like that would work (although as noted above, that covers a full 3 game series).

Thanks . . . so there's no way of resting a reliever just for one game then? Drats . . .
