Just wondering if anyone has any clues on why Santana has had such a rotten start in the team I currently have. The teams home field is Wrigley and his record thus far is:
G W L S IP H ER BB SO ERA WHIP
9 3 5 0 41.1 54 37 14 53 8.06 1.65
Last 10 games
Game Opp Role W L S IP H ER BB SO
Game 33 MON starter 0 1 0 1.0 5 5 1 1
Game 29 KID starter 0 0 0 6.0 5 2 2 7
Game 25 ARM starter 1 0 0 7.0 5 3 2 6
Game 21 ROC starter 0 1 0 1.2 5 6 1 3
Game 17 MUN starter 0 1 0 .2 4 7 3 1
Game 13 FOR starter 1 0 0 9.0 11 2 0 12
Game 9 MUN starter 0 1 0 1.2 6 5 0 2
Game 5 SMO starter 0 1 0 5.1 10 6 2 8
Game 1 FOR starter 1 0 0 9.0 3 1 3 13
If anyone has got any ideas, let me know. The team link is below.
Thanks.

I would attribute it mostly to bad luck...although I would say that, even tho he is a GREAT pitcher, he is not the best fit in wrigley. Wrigley is kind to right handed batters, and most right handers hit lefties better. Also, if you are facing switch hitters, Santana is turning them to the right side in right handed wrigley. Generally want your ace to be a righty in Wrigley IMO...most of your staff for that matter.
That being said, he is still much better than the stats he has for you. Don't worry, it will turn around!

You sure you're not trying to pitch Rafael Santana? :D
Seriously, agree with mtarbell...bad luck and dice hitting more on the hitters cards. It will turn around. Don't expect Cy Young numbers in Wrigley though.......

Agree with mtarbell.
My thoughts -
1) Sheets or Clemens for Santana
2) One of your RH setup guys for one lefty
3) I personally hate 4's in the infield. Hurts your pitchers and I only use a 4 in a corner outfield spot.
4) All + arms in the outfield - when I would play you I would set my baserunning to very aggressive.
Just my 2 cents

it looks like the "dice rolls" are all falling to the hitters card instead of Santana's. it's a 50% chance of that on every at bat. the percentages should turn in your favor eventually. This is the one facet of the game that SOM is off on, IMHO

Whether or not someone has all + arms in the outfield wouldn't matter to me. I had a team with great baserunning and speed and STILL got blown out by one of those + arm outfield teams, so I myself would never set baserunning on agressive.
Seems some people have all the luck when it comes to dice rolls and some of us don't. Welcome to the "don't" club.

Thanks guys for your advice, it is very much appreciated.
It's given me a bit to think about and some good options to follow if things continue to go pear shaped.
Thanks again all. :D
Cheers
