HAL screws up--AGAIN

Usually when HAL screws up, it is because he has overlooked your ace closer, who is well rested and he picks out your .50 million reliever who you wish you could hide and the opponent scores eight runs to win. This time it was a pinch hitter. Situation: My team is down 6-5 bottom of the 9th, Crisp is due to bat, no one on, Bonds on deck. Crisp is batting .326 has two hits a HR and 2 RBIs in the game. Perfect set-up for a rally. HAL looks down the bench and pulls out Karim Garcia who has not batted yet this year and pinch hits him!!! :x Naturally he pops out, end of game. I do not list Garcia on any of the Manager strategy and Crisp is a 2 in the OF so I don't pull him for defense, so why you may ask did HAL do this. HAL what are you smoking?????

a) HAL will always screw up, it is just like breathing to him

b) i t is known that HAL prefers slugging over ba/obp. Though Crisp has decent BA vs righties, Garcia has more pop, and that is why he did that. Check Crips as dont PH for!

HAL

You know that is kind of what I thought, it is the only number that makes sense. You are correct, I missed the do not PH for box this time round. So, if you have to spend .50 on a player not to be used make sure he is the 50 lb weakling with SLUG of .250.

Crisp has better Slug

Not to be difficult Geekor but actually Crisp has a .446 Slugging and Garcia is .388 so it isn't that. Crisp switch hits so it can't be RH. LH match-up, maybe it is just perversity.

look at the cards. Garcia's card actually as more HR chances. So HAL was going for the big payday, instead of avoiding the out.

my mistake, Karim has the better HR card versus RH. That is a reason. It helps to know what HAL is thinking to avoid that.

HAl always goes for the better slg card (not real life slg, ie HR chances). He just prefers that even though I, like many others, don't really neec that off the bench. he even selects that over def when it comes to replacing an injured player.

Yes, but is Kendall checked as "don't PH for". Not that it should matter, but was he?
