John Lackey

Has anyone gotten great numbers out of John Lackey? Numbers befitting his 6+million dollar contract? I went for Tim Hudson, but received Lackey. In the three complete seasons of 2007 I have played; he has been mediocre at best(on other teams).This season my park is Kaufman . Thank you(in advance)for any helpful replies.

He's 14-10 in Rangers Park (HR 1-12) with 30 longballs, 4.09/1.23; nice 3/1 K/BB ratio. Hes better than BOTH Brad Penny & Tim Hudson. Huddy was allowing .310+ avg vs BOTH RHs & LHs so I dumped him midseason. Lackey is a keeper!

Seems to me that most of the $6 mil + SP*'s are overpriced .

Peavy is worth it, but hes about it...

Sabbathia sucks....Sheilds sucks,Beckett is ok...

Much better values in the $3-5 mil range ( Haren, Garland)

There will always be examples of plus $6 SP's doing well, but for the most part have to agree, all are overpriced, the worse being Santana, who I've seen do well in maybe 2 leagues so far. The other 15 or so he's performed no better than slightly (if at all) above the league average for ERA.

I picked Lackey up from another team, where he bombed, then he proceeded to tank with me. I released him before the end of the season.
