Using and abusing RPs

Using and abusing RPs

Postby AeroDave10 » Sat Aug 30, 2008 2:51 pm

Can someone please tell me how to set up my pitching staff so that I lean heavily on certain relief pitchers when I don't have 5 or 6 studs down there in the 'pen? For example, I just finished a league where I was basically the Cleveland Indians. Betancourt and Perez are absolute studs, and I really wanted them to pitch as often as possible and avoid the bum RPs (Borowski, Fultz, Lee, and Mastny) when the starters got tired. Are there some "manager strategies" I should set, or just individual player card settings or both? All opinions welcome!! :)

Just keep in mind, in general, that the more restrictions you put on a pitcher, the less he will pitch.

Aero Dave,
I can relate. I have played several replays of that 2007 Indians team on my CD ROM version of SOM(and it is basically the same, except you play the games one at a time). And every time ; I use Bentencourt as the closer......not Joe Blow. Anyway, I agree with Play By The Rules; the more restrictions you set on the pitchers you do not want to pitch often, the less Hal will use them. And Aray0113 explained that real well. Good luck my fellow tribe fan!
