heading into playoffs it looks like I probably wont use clement vs any of the other playoffs teams because they are slanted heavily to the left. it appears like I should dump him maybe get werth to platoon with hafner since i will be seeing a heavy dose of lefties in playoffs.even if i dont platoon them it will give me an extra bat in case hafner freel or hunter go down for 15 games the other playoff teams are two petcos and one minute maid but the minute maid has a lefty lineup. i will wait till game 142 before dumping.

you just jinxed yourself, planning for the playoffs with 40 to go. Wouldnt that be like yankee fans buying WS tickets in 2004?

good point but that aside does it not make sense to dump a good pitcher when you know you will not use him in the playoffs other righty hitters available besides werth are grissom thames menchino and piazza

every position on a roster is valuable come playoff time. if your not going to use him dump him and take the cash and run. i didnt notice how many pitchers you have. make sure you pick up a starter. last thing you want is HAL decided to close with your new .50 reliever in game 7.
you can definately strengthen your bench with the cash and dont forget about giambi hitting lefties if he is out there.

i currently have 8 starters
glavine maroth hendrickson left
peavy halliday clement right
lowry and haren reverse

glavine will go games one and five
peavy and halliday will each get a start and maroth or lowry will get the other start

I might not even start halliday depending on who I play so clement will definetly not get a start

my other idea is to cut clement and pick up ledezma or villone giving me another lefty who can start and relieve

giambi is not available i fig i might need another righty bat facing rj on one team and santana on another although i dont know if it makes sense to bench hafner even vs lefties
