Fill in the blank (lineup)

I am in the playoffs and will be facing two extremely different pitchers in the first two games, Brett Myers (7L) and Orlando Hernandez (8R). Since we can't alter the lineups for each game, I have some tough decisions to make. Is it ok to leave some blank spots in my starting lineup so HAL can put it in who he thinks are the best fit for each game, or is this strategy too risky? My friend suggested this, and my gut reaction is that HAL will inevitably mess things up, but I don't honestly know.

I would NOT leave it up to Hal. That is just me. I have seen him put together some very strange lineups. Good luck!

I am in AeroDave's league. So, specifically, he has two catchers on his team - Brad Ausmus (R) and Miguel Montero (L). Both are cheapies. If Dave leaves the #8 slot blank for a catcher, will HAL figure out to play Ausmus against Myers and Montero in the game against El-Duque?

What happened?

Who played? Did you leave the spot blank?

I didn't want to risk it, so I started Ausmus. He had slightly better defense, and they were going to be #8 hitters, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I ended up advancing to the Finals, so I guess everything worked out just fine ... so far :?

Neat dilemma though. Good luck in the Finals.

If I remember correctly HAL will adjust your entire lineup, not just the one spot if you leave it blank, and he does some crazy shiznit. I wouldn't trust HAL to make my lineups, but it's up to you.

Exactly my apprehension!
