I am thinking of buying the computer version of the strat board game. The strat store doesn't give alot of info so need some help. I am wondering can you play it game by game. I don't want a game where you push a button and the whole season is played. Does it keep all the stats for you as the season progresses if you play each game individually? If someone out there has it let me know how it is. It's the $49.95 cd rom version listed in the strat store. Thanks for any responses. Larry

I've only had the program a short while but I can answer a couple of your questions.
1) You can play one game at a time and control the action as well as sim a whole season.
2) Stats for the league & teams will be kept up as you play the games.

Well worth it. The only question now is whether you want to get the 2004 season or wait another month or two for the new version.....but I spend hours simming games. I just hope they upgrade at some point to a better technology to make Netplay faster. It takes about 50 mins with a hi-speed connection from what I've seen, vs abt 10 mins for Player vs Computer on desktop....

I really wish they'd go back to Mac support.
It's one of the few programs out there exclusive to Windoze that isn't a security or utility.
I'm a convert and gotta tell you--nothing beats my 2 Macs--no drivers to tweak--no compatibility problems, no BSODs, no viruses. plus UNIX scripting...an actual cron like for big boys and girls...no defragging, no registry, no running malware without my express consent...just pure and simple perfection
except
no SOM--cmon strato folks--get on board with Tiger!!!!!

You will be quite pleased. I would order the version WITH the cards however. I have done it the other way, and while it gives you all the plain numbers you need as well as card rating numbers, it is just not the same.
-I would hold out for the 2005 cards if it were me, unless you want to get going, then get the upgrade in a couple months (which is cheaper than initial purchase.
-ditto on the Mac comments. Mac users are stuck with this online game only, which is a blast, but the best players in here probably have the current computer game. Think about it, you could mock draft a team, then run several replay tests on it.
-The only negative IMO, is that your have to spend what, another $15-$20 or something to get the color ballparks, which are nice to have.

[b:c56430a26b]qksilver[/b:c56430a26b]: Sounds like something is wrong there. I get games done in 15 minutes if there's no chatting, 30 minutes or so with the occasional chat break. Did you turn off flight of the ball, set play by play to "none" or "minimal", and set all of the animation and dice delays to 0?

Anyone care to share how net play works? I guess there has to be a host site somewhere, no?
