Alrighty, 2nd time this has happened, this time to my team. Made some moves after 10pm of opening day, with no 20% penalty. Wouldn't have made the moves otherwise, mind you. First series, Benson, Madson, and Kolb all pitch, yet I had cut all three players. Players I picked up nowhere to be found on my team. The players picked up did in fact show up for the 2nd series. This happened once before where H. Matsui pinch hit for a team who had cut him after 10pm in their first series. Can the PTB look into this glitch please?

No glitch. Roster is set as of 10PM. Any players moved after that can be cut without the penalty, but your roster set at 10PM is the one that plays that nights' games.

No glitch - players can be dropped opening night up to the point the games are run without penalty. The 10:00 deadline is as PBTR says - it just locks in the players for that evening's games.

Well, thats odd, but hey, it is what it is. Let's just hope sharper individuals don't decide to play rent a player for the first series, which is a definate possibility.

Well, if a season winds up getting won or lost because of some squirrelly moves done for the first series, more power to the squirrel.

Many folks use this loophole to drop an expensive SP and get another one, then their ace is in the #4 slot of the rotation. I'm not sure this is a significant advantage, the guy in the #4 slot loses a start at the end of the season anyways, especially if you want him in game 1 of the Semis.

Like I said, I've only seen it once, I would hope this isn't a normal occurance, but I suppose there are some who use it to their advantage. Still would like to see this changed and make the cutoff 10pm. Its not like there isn't enough time to set up your rosters.

I see any use of this gimmick to be a very slight advantage that might lead to an extra win at beginning of season. But at what cost? What if you are waiting to switch out that ace and just before you do someone else picks him up. Now you are left scrambling to put together a plan B.
I became aware of this back when the ATG first came out. I considered the possible gain by taking advantage of this but came to the conclusion that locking in the team I really wanted was worth more over the course of a long season than the extra game I might win at the beginning.
