Omar Vizquel just got hurt for 15 games. He had 512 AB's, 44 walks=556 (I am not sure about sac hits or HBP). His injury rating is 1.

Can someone post again how the injuries work?

Here plate appearances are only counted as AB + BB. Vizquel has less than 600 PAs so he subject to an injury up to 15 games. In general, it seems that if you multiply the injury rating by 15, that's about how many games you can expect a player to miss during the season. Obviously some guys beat the odds, and some don't, but not by much either way. If a guy goes down for a 15-gamer, typicallly he won't miss many more games after that. I don't know if there is something built in to the engine so that his risk of a second injury is limited, but I think it's very rare for a guy with a 1 injury rating to miss a second set of 15 games after the first one, but it is (unfortunately) not that rare for a guy with less than 600 PAs to get bit with the big 15 game bug.

I think what you really wanted to know, too, was this:

>=680 PAs - End of game
>=600 & <680 PAs - Up to 3 games at a time
<600 PAs Up to 15 games at a time

Thanks for the info on injuries. I didn't know the breakdown by plate appearances and how many games a player can miss.

One of my teams is 24 games into the season and I've lost ~ 62 games due to injuries to 5 different players. 3 of those starters were lost for 14 games each! At one point, I only had 9 available players which included Pete Orr and Steve Finley.....yikes!!!

Thus you have to pay a little more for players who dont get injured or can only miss the rest of the game and why in my experience 2007 Markakis, Gonzalez and Byrnes arent worth the money (while Jeter, and Roberts are)
