Casey Krotchman never get's any love. He is one of those guys who is almost always available. I took him in one league, and I was even advised , "He will disappoint". It has only been 60 games but he has put up .309 / .392 / .502 . He has 7 HR and 38 RBI. In another league I have to decide between him and Carlos Guillen. Here he is in the league that has played 60 games.

They both have strengths and weaknesses that when examined in the context of the playing situation should point you at least towards slightly favoring one over the other. Without the context in which they will be used in, your question can't really be answered.

I would use Kotchman. Guillen is not that good IMO. He loses the # Hr's in a pitching park and doesn't have enough power for a HR park. I have used him a couple of times in Fenway only because I wanted a 1B who could steal 20 bags and field a little.

He did most of his damage vs lhp's(.340/9 Hr's). I guess it's not that bad and he does have 600 PA's.

60+ doubles! I've had pretty good luck with Kotchman. This is one of his better seasons for me. This team actually had a pythag of 94 wins yet only finished with 84 btw.

63 Doubles is HUGE! I have him in one league, I think you have sold me on getting him in another one,... that has yet to start. He is always available.

I can't believe you got well over 600 ABs out of Willy Taveras. And 63 doubles out of Kotchman.

I had great success with Kotchman in the one season I used him, too:

By the way, this team had a pythag of 87 wins, but only finished with 78!!
