URGENT!!! Bernie or anyone

The auto-draft somehow only gave me 1 catcher. It was my worst ever draft, but the upside is I have the first waiver pick.

My problem is that no one in the league is willing to trade me a backup catcher of ANY value without taking one of my top players.

Am I hosed in the waivers if my first pick isn't a catcher?

Gotta love these public leagues huh?....

If anyone knows please let me know, my waivers will be a complete bust possibly.

HELP !

Rob

Are you sure no other player on your team qualifies at catcher? Might not be his primary position, so he would not show as a catcher, for example, I believe Doumit, Biggio, and Feliz fall into that category.

That happened to me once, only 1 catcher, and I did get hosed because I didn't have a catcher as my #1 waiver pick. The game wouldn't allow me to get any of my waiver choices because it said I have to have 2 catchers. I wrote to TSN Help about it, but by then I had changed my lineup through free agency (adding a second catcher), and their response was that I have 2 catchers.

I have heard of it happening at least one other time to another manager as well.

Good luck!

Ugh, this stinks. definitely no other catcher on my team, and no quality catchers in the pool.

Maybe just go with a claim on a .50 catcher, and worry about fixing that position post waivers. Then hope you can get quality wiaver picks in rounds 2+. Hopefully TSN or Bernie corrects the error before waivers though!

I have had it happen.

Lesson learned, if you try to get a catcher who isn't a catcher as his first position (I think phelps is like that), you need to draft 3 just in case.

Yep, Lesson learned, so I get to draft a <1mil backup catcher instead of Mike Schmidt, Joe Morgan or Yaz.

A painful lesson indeed. HAL is a bum.

If you post the team, I bet one of the players qualifies as a catcher. I do not mean to doubt you, but I have seen this before where it looks like you have only one catcher, but someone else qualifies there, it is just not their primary position. If I am wrong I apologize. Also I have had some pretty bad auto drafts(like missing on more than half the players I wanted) and I have always been able to fix my teams in waivers, and free agency. Do not panic, at least you have the first waiver pick. I know it sucks though waiting for waivers to clear. You must want to fix that team so bad. I had a post about this very same thing. They need to let us make more waiver claims. I would personally like to do more frenzy leagues because I hate the waiting to fix my team, it is a constant worry when you get a bad draft and can do nothing about it for two days. Good luck!

Wow, it never even crossed my mind about drafting a non primary catcher. I just figured the computer wouldn't allow one to begin without 2 catchers on the roster and correct the problem if indeed you missed out on a Phelps type player. Something new learned each day.
