He had just 261 at bats in 80 games, but JHJ is listed at 6 positions (2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, and RF). For a league I'll be in, I want to know whether you all think I should play him in RF or 3B in 2008. He only played 2 innings of one game at 3B last year, and played 12 games (5 starts in RF).

We know what his range is at those positions but we (or at least I) don't know what his e rating is nor his throwing arm. I would withhold judgement till I knew those things. Since he had such limited time at 3B he could be a 3e68 or something at 3B or he could have a +3 arm.

I'm not sure what his batting numbers have to do with defense, but here you go:
In 261 ABs (80 games),
.326 / .384 / .487
47 runs scored
36 RBIs
20 2Bs
2 3Bs
6 HRs
23 BBs
36 Ks
0 GIDP
15/18 SBs

What his batting nummbers have to do with it, is he MIGHT not get a TSN card. Those are pretty good stats for a guys with under 275 pa's and I've seen TSN keep those guys out. I'd be wary of having to depend on him yet.

Based on 2007, everyone who had similar stats and PAs got a card:
Milton Bradley
Matt Kemp
Jeff Keppinger
Josh Hamilton
Josh Phelps
Hank Blalock
Rick Ankiel
Jayson Werth
Travis Buck
Ryan Spilborghs
Cristian Guzman
The only who didn't get a card who would have qualified for that group is Cody Ross, who had only 193 PAs and 1.064 OPS.
Therefore, the only impact guys (min. 100 PAs) I predict still WON"T get a card are:
Nelson Cruz (132 PAs, 1.030 OPS)
Chris Dickerson (119 PAs, 1.019 OPS)
Rafael Furcal (163 PAs, 1.012 OPS)
Mike Napoli (262 PAs, .960 OPS) is questionable, but will probably get one.

Didn't say for sure he wouldn't, I'd just be leary. I also haven't chacked his injury status, if he sustained a significant injury he probably will get a card, which was the case for a couple of the guys you have listed above.
BTW, I agree on the 2 of the 3 guys you have listed, Furcal MIGHT get a card, BUT he'll be an injury 7 and still be a 7mil + card if he gets one.

This why I don't think he will get a card. At that price with that risk nobody in a draft league will want to spend the coin. He would only be partialy viable in 200M league. Has Strat ever produced a 7M card with a 7 injury?

Escobar had a pretty sweet card last year.
Injury on 7
but cheaper than 7 mill.
