Hi. Has anyone ever gotten 130 games out of Barry Bonds with that 3 injury in 2007? What kind of numbers did he give you? .480 OPB is awesome but is he worth the price and the time on the DL? Thanks.

In a league I was in he only played ~ 130 games but here are his stats:
AB - 523
R - 119
HR - 47
RBI - 122
BA - .275
OBP - .427
SLG - .630
You have to figure he'll be on the DL for ~ 30 games but those are pretty impressive numbers for a full season, let alone 80% of a season. Just be sure to sit him down at least 16 games out if you will make the playoffs. I had similar numbers with Pena and he got injured the last series of the season and was on the shelf for 15 games.

Yes, IMO. He's at his best as DH in bomber parks and it's easy enough to get cheap, effective subs for when he is hurt.

I have seen savvy, wining managers use him. And I do not think he even has to be in a bomber park. It is good to have at least one power hitter in a pitcher's park, and he has a good ratio of natural HRs. Because of the injury risk , you will want a quality backup DH. But also because of the injury risk, he is cheaper. My point being, while he is not my type of player, there are many ways to build a Championship team. And there is no reason why he can not be part of your blue print.

Bomber Park?
In Fenway I batted him #2 both ways and he led my team in Runs and RBIs ;)

I wouldn't use him in an $60 or $80 league, but wouldn't be a problem in $100 or $200 league for me.

Oh stop it Jerry. You use all sorts of injury riddled/high risk players. Whats your problem with Bonds?

Here is a pretty ugly stat line by Bonds in RFK. Teixeira's is pretty bad as well.
