Letting Hal pick your lineup

Billy Martin used to pick his line up from a hat to break a slump. I'm going to let hal do the honors for me. Anyone have luck with thisd method before.

I had a team that I forgot to enter in all the settings once where, when i noticed it, was 44-19 or something god-awfully hot like that. So I left it alone, they continued to win for a while longer (18 straight series in all), then lost something like 10 of 12. I then set lineups and everything like I normally do and they continued to lose and either barely backed in to the playoffs or missed them entirely. Otherwise, I have done what you are doing in desperation (or forgotten to enter lineups for the first few series) many times with limited or no success.

Yeah I have a team called "friends of HAL" so I let him pick the lineup. It doesn't work. I mean he pinch ran Eric Munson while Miles (who I have designated as a pinch runner) sat on the bench. HAL oh HAL why do you do the things you do????

In this series, I let Hal set my lineups. It was the beginning of a 12-6 stretch for a team that was losing a ton. I used HAL for reinforcement tat the lineup I was using was not too far off from optimal. However, he (she?) played D. Roberts or Jose Cruz, Jr. in CF as opposed to Vernon Wells (1[-1]e1)! Huh? Wells was at DH!

I can't think of one reason why this would be done. I can understand Ortiz at 1B since that is not Adam Dunn's primary position.
