I got my ratings disk today :-)

Postby The Biomechanical Man » Fri Jan 23, 2009 7:21 pm

I got the ratings disk today, and I'm as happy as a school kid with his new birthday presents. Unfortunately I haven't bought a computer with a 3.5" disk drive since I WAS a kid*, and the ratings disk still arrives on 3.5" disk. Now I have to hunt down an old computer with a 3.5" disk drive.

Every year it is sillier and sillier that Strat-O-Matic still mails out ratings on 3.5" disks.

Always fun to poke fun Glenn, you know it's all in good cheer.

Yes, I emailed them yesterady with a copy of my recepit e-mail from the order and they sent me the data as a zip file attachment.

No apology or even any comment in their email, just a blank with their attachment.

I found an old computer at work with a 3.5" floppy disk drive. The thing worked fine.

Yeah, it certainly would be much easier for them to email you the zip folder, or mail a CD instead of a floppy.

Maybe next year.

I posted this response in PM to a fellow board member, but I thought I should share:

[i:f83dff6cfa]Nothing in their email by way of an apology or expanation, just a blank e-mail with the attachment.
That's probably how they should send it to begin with, but what do I know. Maybe it's more cost effective to send out a bunch of defective, outdated hardware and waste man hours correcting the problem answering emails and sending them out to disgruntled customers.[/i:f83dff6cfa]

Your sarcasm detector should have just exploded. :D
